In Argentina, it would be “But you are German”, in Germany “But you are not quite German” or “You are German, you are not Argentinian because you were born here.” Or “You are half, or a quarter.” But inside I have no conflicts. I do not define myself in these terms.

But I am always a Black man in the army, I’m a Black man in Germany. I am constantly representing. And I cannot allow myself to just be.
